Frank Cowan Company has partnered with Local Authority Services (LAS) to offer all Ontario municipalities access to education/informational materials that promote continuing education related to new and longstanding municipal risk management issues.

The main objective of this strategic educational partnership is to promote education and knowledge about municipal risk, as part of LAS' ongoing effort to help enhance strong, effective, and efficient municipal government, and also to help our members become better equipped to effectively address increasing municipal claims. Frank Cowan Company is committed to this educational partnership and will migrate relevant risk management information to the LAS site and continue to develop new resources that will be available to all municipalities.

LAS' decision to partner with Cowan is because of their long tenure in the municipal insurance market and because of their many successful and longstanding relationships with many Ontario municipalities. Cowan is committed to supporting the development of better risk management activities and knowledge in the Ontario municipal sector.

In addition to this webpage over the next year the LAS-Cowan partnership will also include presentations across the province (at LAS Town Hall sessions and municipal conferences) about new and ongoing risk management issues. We also anticipate disseminating information and other services to Ontario municipalities through other forums to encourage learning.

Through this partnership, LAS and Cowan seek to encourage reduced municipal risk through targeted information and education. Both LAS and Cowan believe there is a great opportunity to make a positive difference for the municipal sector in Ontario.
